What is Shock Wave Therapy?

Shockwave therapy is a therapeutic modality used to treat various chronic musculoskeletal conditions. It involves high-pressure sound waves penetrating into the injured tissues causing growth of new blood vessels which promotes healing and reduces pain.

Shockwave treatments

  • Treatment sessions are 10-30 minutes depending on the condition being treated

  • Healing continues to occur for up to 12 weeks after the initial treatments are completed
  • Light activities are recommended after each treatment
